Kyle Bryant was born in Lewiston, Maine in 1985. While growing up in Auburn he was always drawn to the Bates Mill area of downtown Lewiston. While skateboarding and doing graffiti in and around the mills he built a strong affinity to empty and ignored spaces. At 18 he moved to Boston where he studied at The Massachusetts College of Art, worked as a bicycle messenger and traveled the country on tour with a metal band. He graduated in 2008 with a BFA in printmaking and received the Donis A. Dondis Travel Fellowship. The award was used to travel to Berlin and participate in a six month residency at Culturia. He has exhibited in Boston, New York City, Lewiston, Maine, Richmond, Virginia, and Berlin, Germany.
He currently lives and works in Portland, Maine. Find more of his work on his website: www.kylebryant.net.
Kyle's art appears in the CITIES issue of Status Hat (March, 2011).
