Randall Bass once called himself a fine-art photographer specializing in abstract and urban landscape. Presently as a visual artist he blurs the lines between graphic design and photography without forgetting the importance of lighting design. Generally opting for scenes without people or other staged components, Bass focuses primarily on the relationship between light, composition, texture and depth before considering content, context or subject matter. Enamored by the work of greats like Nouvel, Gaudi, and Dali, the artist’s images can evoke a sense of space often illuminating hidden perspective.
Bass currently exhibits his art in and around New York and Los Angeles including LACMA, UCLA, William Morris Endeavor (WME), Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC), Downtown LA and North East LA Art Walks. His work has been published locally, nationally and internationally. His artwork can be found in many private collections and as clothing designs at www.Shortomatic.com.
