ABOUT GREEN SUNSHINE

Performing a mix of funk, jam, hip hop and jazz, the collective consists of three MCs (Reason, Rhyme and Chaos), a vocalist (Motown Tea), a guitarist (Justin Boza), a bassist (Curtis Haze), a drummer (Jason

Stander), a DJ (Sly Boogie) and a guy who plays trumpet, keys and harmonica (Johnny Nichol).

The end result is something like G. Love and Special Sauce, Arrested Development and Jurassic 5 all covering the Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique. Their music radiates positive vibes, and is deeply funky and extremely fun-loving

This is the next level of music. Hip-hop, jazz, and funk all started with the blues, went their separate ways, molded American history, engulfed artists and elevated them to God-like status, and have now come back together, reformed, renewed, and renamed. This is Green Sunshine. Three Emcees and a DJ, spawned from the early masters of hip-hop, have joined forces with a trumpet player, classically trained by the masters of higher education, a soul singer from the streets of the Bronx, and a rhythm section that continuously redefines the limits and possibilities of the guitar, bass, and drums. This is the new generation of music. This is what you’ve been listening for. This is Green Sunshine.
